I can’t believe it’s already been a semester since I started high school. It hasn't been anything like I expected, but in a good way. At the beginning, because Foothill was so small I thought it was going to be extremely boring. But I've come to love its size and Foothill itself. I’m so happy I got accepted, I wouldn't want to be at any other school.

My grades aren't bad, but they’re not where I want them. If they were where I wanted them then I would have a 4.0. I have EDA first period and that isn't hard, I have an A in that. I have Spanish second period and I have a B. That can be difficult at times since it’s a different language. Third period I have Geometry my hardest period and I have a C in that. I don’t really enjoy the teacher’s teaching skills, I can most defiantly tell the difference between high school and middle school math. Fourth period I have P.E. at Mavericks and that can be fun because I get to work out with my friends. And I actually feel like it’s doing something unlike regular P.E. classes. I have an A in that class. Fifth period I have Biology and I have a B. This is another class where I can tell the difference between high school and middle school classes. Science used to be really easy for me but Biology can be difficult at times and I don’t always get everything. Sixth period I have health, that class is really fun because I really like the teacher. She makes what could be boring into something really fun. I also have a lot of fun people in that class so they make it even more fun. I have an A in that class. And lastly I have English. This was a class that I thought I was going to hate because I usually really dislike English, but surprisingly I really like it! The teacher and the class make it really fun and somewhere I want to be every day.

At the beginning of the year my friends and I usually just walked around because we didn't really have a place to hang out. But now we have a set place where we all meet up. At the beginning of the year I only really hung out with three or four of my and now I have a set group. I've gotten closer to some of my old friends and I've also made a lot of new really great friends. I've made at least one new friend in each class and they’re all really cool. Sadly I haven’t really kept in touch with any of my friends that went to a different school. I’ll talk to them if I see them or if they talk to me first but that is very rare.

School has added some stress to my family relationships but not to the point where they are ruined. I still get along with my brothers very well. My oldest brother still comes over a few times a week, so we still talk quite a bit. But sadly because of school we haven’t really been able to hangout as often. I used to go over and watch T.V. with him and play with his cats. But I’m usually busy with homework so I can’t. It’s a lot easier to hang out with my other brother because he still lives with me. So if I want to hang out with him I can just walk in his room and watch a movie or watch him play video games. My grandma and I have a good relationship. We talk all the time and she just got back from a month’s trip in Antarctica. She’s eighty five so she’s not exactly all there. She has been progressively getting worse for the past year or so. Lately she’s been getting really bad, she can’t remember as much anymore and she gets confused really easily. My mom and I still have a great relationship but with the added stress of school we fight a lot more. I try to just ignore it and not yell back but being the fifteen year old girl I am it’s hard not to. When we fight it usually doesn't last very long though. We usually start acting like nothing happened about an hour and a half to an hour after the fight. My dog Kobi is still fat as ever. I was supposed to start taking him on more walks but, with school it’s hard to find time.

I still pretty much do the same things I did at the beginning of the year. So my hobbies haven’t really changed. I still listen to Kpop and watch Kdramas, and I’m still really into South Korea and want to move there when I’m older. I still hang out with my friends whenever I can, but that’s pretty much all I do with my spare time.

I still really want to go to UCLA. I actually did a project on UCLA in EDA and it made me want to go there even more. I really liked the size of the school and its location. I also liked its classes and the school spirit. But if I want to get accepted I’ll have to get my grades up a lot and think about getting into some honors classes. Or if I can’t do that I’ll have to try to get into some special programs. I also still really want to study abroad in Korea.

My first semester at Foothill has been amazing. I really like most of my classes and I've made a lot of new friends that I’ll keep for a long time. I didn't know how I would feel about how small the school was at first and the fact that most of my friends went to a different schools. But I've ended up loving it and not wanting to be at any other school. I really hope the rest of my years at Foothill are just as amazing.sunset-stateofthestudent-brainstorm-2013.jpg
